Kevin Hernandez was recently selected to receive the 2008 CRA Scholarship Award, after submitting an application earlier in the year, and outlining his plans to begin college at CSU/Pueblo in the fall.
A member of the CRA Junior Team, Kevin has represented the state at National events, and offers an occasional clinic to players at the Fort Carson and Peterson AFB facilities in Colorado Springs. His goal is to become one of the top pros on tour and considers racquetball to be "the greatest sport ever created!"
Hernandez plays or practices 15-25 hours a week, and has developed a quiet temperament and precision on the court. With his father deployed to Iraq, it's one of several activities -- along with running and tennis -- that keep him occupied. "Racquetball has helped me, with my father being deployed for the last couple of years" he said, "to become the man that I am."
Congratulations to Kevin for his CRA scholarship award, along with all of our best wishes for his sucess in the fall, and beyond.
